2 stories run inches apart in the Times Record News local section this morning. Below is a clip from the first story regarding the big conspiracy drug bust last Friday.
This is a clip from the second story ‘2 Face Felony Charges Men accused of sexual crimes against children in unrelated cases‘.
Because this is the message they’re sending to our children.
I’ve never asked for a letter writing campaign on my behalf. Today I’m asking for one on behalf of these children, please. It will only take a few minutes of your day, not so much compared to the childhoods our criminal justice system has deemed insignificant. Here is a link to write a Letter to the Editor of the Times Record News. Yes you’ll probably have to register but again I ask, is it really too big of an inconvenience in comparison?
if you do write a letter to the editor, leave a comment here please- maybe it will encourage others to do so too. thanks.
Cat, I did have to register, but you’re right… is it really too large of a thing to do? I submitted a letter to the editor (which I’m not allowed to do at my own newspaper, by the way.)
But — and I know this from experience — that you can CHOOSE to do meth or to NOT do meth. You CANNOT choose whether or not you’re molested.
I’ll be the first to rant about how methamphetamines are one of the worst scourges in our society today, and I think I’ve done that in your comment box before.
One difference I noted in the two stories, though, was that one was a federal court while one was a local court — the two systems have different rules.
I asked the question in my letter to the editor: “Which is worse?” Sadly, the prosecutors and judges will be asking: “Which is easier to prove in a court?”
How sad to be a child and have people (judges) doubting your testimony…
I also noticed these were in different courts. There’s just something inherently wrong in the overall message it sends ya know.
thank you for sending a letter. nothing will change if there’s never an outcry for it.
